Real Wedding: Alison ♥ JeremiahJune 22nd, 2010 by Larissa

This amazing vintage inspired wedding was held at Le Chambord Inn in upstate New York, and featured my FAVORITE umbrellas from Bella Umbrella. They are gorgeous, stunning, and unforgettable. The romantic ceremony was held in the lush woods behind the Inn and the reception was held inside. As the rain came down during the ceremony it almost seemed as no one even noticed….. Justin & Mary Photography explain: So here’s the thing. I believe that anytime someone is willing to stand out in the storm for what they believe in, this world has a way of returning to them so much more than they ever gave up. For it is always true that the earth shines a little brighter after the rain. That the color is a littler truer. That the past is washed away and all that’s left is the here and now. So here’s to the storms. Because they somehow make everything more beautiful. Hope you enjoy the loveliness of this wedding as much as I do! xoxo

From the photographer:

As I sat here trying to think about how best to talk about the kind of love they share, I knew there was no better way of saying it than what I had already written about them before. About how they love fearlessly. Without bounds. Without reason. Only knowing what the heart wants. So I thought I’d just let that post speak for itself.

“We stood awash in puddles of umbrellas. Two here. Three there. All huddled together for warmth. Clinging to each other as the rain came down.

And oh did it ever come down.

In buckets, in bath tubs…it poured down on us with purpose and determination, and washed the day clean. It rained so hard our eyelashes grew heavy as they lined with tiny rain drops and the world in front of us went blurry.

And still…the rain came down.

They tried to talk her out of it. Told her to consider a safer, more comfortable option. To think about the alternative. But she just hiked up her dress, looked down at her wellies and said, “I don’t know what you’re doing, but I’m getting married.”

To him. In that moment there was nothing more she wanted than to stand out in the pouring rain under that tree….their tree…and marry him.

Because it was where they felt closest to everything they love. Everything that really matters in life. See, they stood out there because it wasn’t safe or comfortable. But because it was remarkable. And it was theirs. Just him and her and their love.

And it made them feel alive.”

When I saw this wedding it made me think of the song, Empire State of Mind, by Alecia Keys. There is something so powerful about New York…the people, style, and it definitely IS where dreams come true! Molly & Joey were married in the financial district of Manhattan at a little place called Battery Gardens which has sweeping views of the gorgeous harbor . After the ceremony, Molly scheduled a water taxi (very cool!!) for the cocktail hour that took the group from Manhattan to Brooklyn for the reception. This chic wedding was captured by Sue Kessler from Christian Oth Studios. I am definitely in awe!

A New York Wedding – Amanda & AndrewApril 22nd, 2010 by Larissa

The first word that came to my mind when I saw this wedding was : Romantic. This wedding exudes love, romance, and has a wonderful charm. The bride was the mastermind behind this entire wedding and made the invitations, table numbers, menus, all signs at the reception, programs, photo booth props, the groomsmen’s boutonnieres, the bridesmaid’s hair clips, and the embroidered lace caplet she wore when it was cold. The bride’s coworker made her hair piece as a gift. I have to admit that when I read the long list of things the bride made I almost fell out of my chair! First off, that is alot to do when you are planning your own wedding, but that fact that everything was so beautiful and so well put together just blew me away. If you want even more details then check out her wedding website at http://andymandyswedding.blogspot.com/. I want to give a BIG thank you to Natalia Russo Photography for having me feature this amazing wedding. Please check out their blog for more inspiration!
